Although lacking in some areas (it’s not one of the greatest comedies of all-time), Elf is a hilarious moving picture in its own right. Resolve Ferrell turns in an amazing discharge as Buddy. Like Tom Hanks in Giant, he’s actually believable as the honest man-child roaming the streets of Different York City. It’s this absurd innocence that provides Elf with the calm vital to keep the audience entangled with in the story commencement to end.
